The VS-Dir FFA service is a part of your overall VS-Dir directory. It is defined by Topic Pages which users then post Entries to. You are in full control as to type of Entries to allow, content, duration, cost, length of content, requirements, and restrictions.  The FFA pages themselves are .htm pages which you create in your Core Controls. Free and Paid FFA listings are called Entries. You can also display Ads on your FFA pages as well.

Terms:
FFA Entry: a link plus content. The default for FFA Enties is free.
FFA Paid Entry: an FFA Entry posted to a Paid Only Topic Page.
FFA Ad: a Paid Ad inserted on any FFA Topic Page. They have independent sort criteria and duration from any Entry.
List Head: This is the section in Core Controls where you create the Index Page for your FFA, and the Topic Pages.
LHID: The system number used to identify the Index Page and each Topic Page.
List Body: The section in Core Controls where you review and manage FFA Entries and Ads to FFA Topic Pages, and find the Form to manually insert FFA Entries and FFA Ads.
LBID: The system number used to identify each FFA Entry and FFA Ad.

Setting up your VS-Dir and FFA Module in a TrEx script or other Skeleton script:
Once your VS-Dir is installed, go to Basic Settings in Core Controls. Find the Menu that lists all the features of your script.

1. Check the Box for the VS-Dir Module
2. Save changes
3. Load/Save your settings.

Load/Save:
In Core Controls find the Load/Save Section in the Far Right hand column. It will be the last Entry. In the Left hand side of that page you will see a form. Fill in the Boxes with your User Name and Password. Then click on Save TO live. Your TrEx script or other Skeleton script will now be updated, and you will see the Controls for your VS-Dir and FFA in Core Controls. (Also see Backing up your website.)

Managing your VS-Dir FFA:
The FFA is managed in two sections: List Head and List Body. List Head is used to create the Index Page for the FFA service and all the Topic Pages. Each entry into the List Head is assigned a number called LHID#. In order to have FFA entries or Ads, you must first set up the Topic Pages where those Entries and Ads will be placed. List Body is where Admin (the webmaster) can create FFA Entries and FFA Ads. Each Entry or Ad is assigned a number as well, called LHIB#.

Pricing Records for Paid FFA Entries and FFA Ads are created in the Price Record section of your VS Skeleton / TrEx Script.

1. Go to List Head.
2. Find the link: "Add a new directory listing or ad by clicking here."
3. Fill out these fields in the Form:

Name of list:
The name of your index page for the FFA Directory can be called anything. For SEO purposes, it is probably a good idea to brand it however. An example: Honeyhitz Free FFA Link Directory Index

Filename:
The filename of your index page must be index.htm
Do not include http:// or www. Simply enter in the text index.htm

Title:
Like the Name of list, the title can be anything. As in Name, for SEO purposes you may want to brand it. An example: Index of honeyhitz traffic exchange FFA directory.

Leave all the other fields blank and unchecked EXCEPT restrictions. As this is your Index page, you won't want people trying to post links and content to this page. Choose No Additions for the Index Page.

Once you have filled in the above four (4) fields, save. This will create the index.htm page for your FFA directory. You will note that once your create your Index.htm page, it is now assigned an LHID number. All pages in your FFA Directory have an LHID. If you created your Index Page first, it will be LHID 1. The path to your VS-Dir is yoursite, Networks, Site Lists. Site Lists is the Index Page you created. View the Entries and Ads listed on each Topic Page by clicking on the specific title. View an individual FFA entry or FFA ad by clicking on the specific entry or ad title.

After you first create your FFA Index Page, it will be blank. If the Index Page was the very first entry in List Head, the LHID# will be 1. The next step is to create individual Topic Pages.
